Symbian hack: Series 60 phones can do WiFi !!!! 4free, now...

By Frank Koehntopp Thursday, April 01, 2004 10:51 AM
They've done it again: a group of mobile phone freaks have analysed Nokia's Series 60 firmware and found references to wireless LAN functionality. Further analysis revealed code that allows for re-tuning the bluetooth chipset to enable WLAN mode. Technical background: wireless LAN and bluetooth both operate in the 2.4 GHz spectrum, so they share the same core technology. Although the range will not match that of dedicated WLAN cards, it should be good enough for sitting in a cafe and browse web pages with Opera, far faster than it ever could be with GPRS. First tests have shown transfer rates up to 2.4 MBit/s.
There have been no comments by Nokia yet as to how they intended to use the technology in the first place.

The patch will work with the following list of Nokia phones only (you can check the firmware version by typing "*#0000#"):

Nokia 3650 (NHL-8) v 4.13
Nokia 3660 (NHL-8) v 4.57
Nokia 6600 NHL-10 V 3.44.1
Nokia N-Gage (NEM-4) v 4.03

As a service to our readers, we will supply a download for the patch courtesy of Mobitopia and AllAboutSymbian. Please point your WAP browser to http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/symbianwifi.php and follow the instructions. Please make sure to select the correct phone model and verify the firmware version.

I will not take any liability for this, but it would be so cool if it works as planned. My nokia needs a firmware upgrade, then i will try it myself.

Spreadsheet, a rich mans calculator

Sometimes the calculator just does not cut it, what you need is a small spreadsheet to keep track of things and let you fool with numbers (without always having to start over from scratch). Well this little (free) java program should do the trick quite nicely, its called MicroCalc and it can be found HERE. Its all the basic things you want in such a program, like its got enough EXCEL compatability to keep you going and the sync bit is at least free for now too.

My testing of software for myNokia6600 is on hold as my lapy with the IR is on loan... But that dosnet stop you from emailing me what you think of it and please email me anything else of interest that i might miss!

FAQs

Operating system The Nokia 6600 uses the Symbian Operating System. To check the version number, type *#0000#
Accessories? There's a wide range of accessories, including spare batteries, cases, chargers, in-car kits, hands-free, data cables and facias, at Carphone Warehouse
Can I use it as a modem? Yes. The 6600 has a 'modem' option under 'connectivity'. Selecting this option allows another device (such as a Psion or Pocket PC) to connect to the Internet using infrared.
Email from your 6600 If you're looking to use your 6600 for sending and receiving e-mail, consider taking out an account with free provider, Tiscali. For details of connectivity, click here.
How do I use WAP / What is 'Services'? As well as a web browser, the 6600 has a WAP browser, which can be accessed via the Services menu. For details of Wap on a 6600, and using WAP, see our 6600 WAP page
How do I install software? Software for Symbian OS phones is normally supplied using a Symbian installation file (with a .sis extension). This is a single file that contains the components needed to get a piece of software installed and ready to run. A SIS file can be run on a Symbian phone (e.g. from the Inbox or via a file manager. It can also be run via the PC connectivity solution that was supplied on the CD with the handset. Assuming you have a SIS file on your PC/Mac (either downloaded from the Internet or on a CD), the ways to install a SIS file onto your handset are as follows:

Beaming - Beam the file to your handset from your PC using Bluetooth or IR. If you don't currently have the ability to beam files to the handset via Bluetooth or infrared (either from another handheld device or from a PC), then you may wish to purchase an IRDA adapter for your PC (this means you'll be able to install software, backup and synchronise data between phone and PC) - See our Series 60 PC connectivity page for more.
Install via PC - Assuming you've installed the PC connectivity suite that was supplied with your phone, look for the "Install software" option. You'll need to have the handset connected to the PC via serial, Bluetooth or infrared for this to work. - See our Series 60 PC connectivity page for more.
By email - The alternative, is to email the file that you're trying to install, typically a SIS (Symbian installation file) to your own email account, and then use your phone to logon to your email (details) and download the SIS file as an attachment into your phone's Messaging Inbox.
Via memory card - There is another alternative for users of phones that take memory cards (such as the 3650 and 6600) by transferring the SIS file to the handset via the card slot and a PC MMC Memory card reader. Copy files onto an MMC from your PC, and then insert the MMC card into your handset. You'll need to have a file manager on your 6600 to access the file from the memory card (file managers are available from www.symbos.com)..

How do I connect my 6600 to my PC? The 6600 can connect to a PC via Bluetooth or infrared. If your PC doesn't support either Bluetooth or IR, then you may want to consider buying an adapter that can be plugged into your computer's USB or Serial port. Here is a summary of how to connect your 6600 to your PC.

IR connection. From the 6600, select 'Connect | Infrared' to turn the phone's IR on. Line up the phone with the PC infrared port, and Windows should detect the 6600. Then, use the Nokia Connectivity package to select the file you want to send to the 6600. For more on IR, see our PC connectivity page
There are several IR adapters available, including the pictured 'USB-IRDA Adaptor' from Maplin Electronics (Cat no: RV88V), or the GIrBIL serial adapter from Clove.
Bluetooth connection. From the 6600, select 'Connect | Bluetooth'. Turn Bluetooth 'On', then move to the second tab by moving the joystick to the right. This should show you all Bluetooth devices in range. If your PC isn't shown, select 'Options | New paired device' and let the 6600 search for the PC connection. When the phone and PC are paired, use the Nokia Connectivity package to select the file you want to send to the 6600.
There are several Bluetooth adapters available - take a look at the range offered by Bluetooth specialists Blue Unplugged. It's also worth taking a look at the Belkin USB Bluetooth adapter available for around £34 from Amazon.
For details of Bluetooth, see our Bluetooth page, and for help connecting, see our PC connectivity page

Memory card reader. If you don't want to beam files from your PC to the phone, another option is to make use of the MMC card slot in the 6600. Get hold of a Memory card reader for around £20 and copy files onto an MMC card plugged into your PC. Find out more on our Memory card page.
Files beamed to the 6600 can be found in the Messaging application, in the Inbox folder

How do I silence the camera click? Select the 'Silent' profile, or turn off the 'Warning tones' from Profiles
Extra memory for 6600 The Nokia 6600 supports MMC cards for memory expansion. Nokia can sell you their own MMC cards, but their prices for Nokia-branded cards are higher than for standard cards. We'be not heard of any incompatibility with non-Nokia cards, so it's worth shopping around to get a third-party card. Here are a few online options:
Amazon - Stock a range of MMC cards including a Viking 64 Meg card for around £25, and an eXpansys 128 Meg card for around the £50 mark
Dabs.com stock a range of MMC cards. At the time of writing, prices for 128Meg cards are considerably cheaper than Amazon, and a wide range of sizes from different manufacturers are available
Consider bidding for an MMC card at Ebay.co.uk - nab a bargain
For more details, see our Memory Card page

Hotmail and AOL access? The Messaging application can't be used to get your Hotmail or AOL email, as these services use proprietary email systems. For email on the move, consider using a standard POP3 provider such as Tiscali (see setup details).
However, there is an alternative - The P900 comes with a Web browser, and this can be used to access webmail, including Hotmail and AOL mail.

Update: A small Java application, HotViewer, is now available to allow access to Hotmail from your handset.
Can I use the 6600 in the States? Yes. The 6600 is a tri-band phone operating on EGSM900/1800 (Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific), and GSM1900 (US). There should be no problem using the 6600 with network operators in these countries. Roaming restrictions from your network operator may prevent use of some services in other countries.
Travel news on the move Traffic-i is a dedicated application that lets you receive live road traffic information from the Trafficmaster network direct on your 6600 over GPRS. Find out about road issues in your area, plus an indication of the speed of traffic on motorways and major A roads.

For more on this application, how to set it up, and details of using this on the move, see our dedicated Traffic-i page

For more information on mobile travel news, see our Travel page.
How do I install ringtones? 6600 supports playback of .mid or .wav files, and use of these file formats as ringtones. To use such a soundfile, beam or email the file to your 6600. It will then appear in the Messaging Inbox. Open the message and select 'Options | Save'. Then, from 'Profiles', select a profile and set the 'Ringing tone' to the new file.
For more on ringtones, see the mobile phone FAQ
How do I get to the ringtones settings? Go to Profiles, select which profile you're in (if you're not sure, it's probably 'General'), press 'Options', 'Personalise', then press on the 'Ringing tone' option. Scroll up or down, and press 'Select' on the tone you want.
FM radio for my 6600? Some Nokia devices come with a built-in FM radio, but the Nokia 6600 does not. We're often asked whether software is available to add a radio to their phone. Unfortunately, it's not that simple, as it's not just a software issue. Phones that have built-in radios contain dedicated hardware in the phone to do this (an FM RF tuner)... and the 6600 doesn't have that. If you're really desperate to listen to radio from your handset, note that it is possible to listen to streaming audio over the Internet via GPRS, although don't expect the results to be up to much!
There are some Nokia headsets available with an FM radio in the lead, but we can't find one that works with the 6600.
Best bet is to consider a small separate FM radio, such as the Miniature FM Radio from Maplin (Cat no: CJ05F), which is small enough to carry around, and capable of good FM reception on the move.
How do share my pictures with others? Once you have taken a picture on the 6600, there are three ways to get the files from your phone to other people or computers:

You can copy it to your PC with the Nokia software supplied on the CD . Depending on what you have connected to your computer, you can use Infrared or Bluetooth. Set your PC to receive files (using the IR or Bluetooth software supplied with your adapter), select the photo to send (from Images), then from the Options menu, select Send.
You can use the Messaging application and email the picture to yourself (or a friend)
Send the picture to another mobile using MMS. Costs of sending pictures by MMS differ depending on which network operator you're with. Take a look at our MMS page for more.

Changing the default picture To change the default wallpaper image used in the phone application, do the following:

Press Menu
Go to Tools | Settings | Phone | Standby mode
Press the joystick on the "Background image" option.
From the "Yes / No" option, select "Yes". You're now able to select from an image in your images folder

What's my 6600's serial number? Enter '*#06#' for your handset's serial number (known as IMEI) - useful if your phone is stolen
Can I read my work email? By default, Series 60 handsets support collection of email using the POP and IMAP protocols. Office systems such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes use a different set of protocols when communicating to desktop PCs for corporate email. Both Exchange and Notes support POP and IMAP email collection, but this is a service that many IT administrators restrict access to, for security reasons. If you are looking to collect your email from your phone, contact your company's IT department to see if they support POP and IMAP. They should supply you with the settings you need.
For help with setting up POP and IMAP email, see our Series 60 connectivity page
How do I format or hard reset a 6600? The reset code for Series 60 phones is *#7370# (entered as you'd enter a phone number). All data will be lost if you use this feature.

We've also seen this procedure documented online, but have yet to try it:

Switch off the phone.
Hold down the following three buttons: Green(call answer) button, *+ button, and 'def 3' button
While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the 6600
When the message 'Formatting' appears on the screen, release the buttons
Note that you shouldn't switch the phone off or remove the battery when performing either of these operations, and it's advised that the handset has a reasonable amount of battery charge before performing a format/reset. We accept no responsibility for use of this code. It is undocumented, not supported by Nokia and should be used at your own risk.

Default lock code The default lock code is 12345
In the event that you've forgotten your lock code, take your phone to a Nokia Service Centre... they can unlock it for you.

Bitz'n'BobZ

PROBLEM : Cant hear downloaded .mid files as ring tones when attached to people in the address book

SOLUTION : use FEexplorer to move ringtones from the default 'tones' to the folder marked 'digital sounds directory' & then attach them to the contact list.

PROBLEM : Cant sync with the nokia software and your PC any more and re-installing the software wont work

SOLUTION : uninstall and then delete the directory, reinstall.

Question : what is mROUTER

Answer : this allows you to 'route' say the internet from the desktop to/from the phone. By using this you can surf/email from the desktop from the mobile as the access device; handy when you have your laptop away from home.

BlueTooth & 6600

From the newsgroups (where i get a lot of the info i post here) tell of troubles with BT adaptors... Well they are all aftermarket adaptors it seems to i would have to say you prob need to go genuine NOKIA parts and thats all i can say about that. Dont blame nokia Sony/E have the same problem.

The two newsgroups you should add are alt.cellular.nokia aus.comms.mobile

Nokia gaming... a taste of whats to come

I downloaded from the p2p network TombRaider for the ngage in the blz format. As previously posted you copy both the the MMC card and install the blz-installer and then if you have copied or moved the game to the main menu, blz will detect and install it for you. Both the install files are deleted for you and you are ready to play. Now i admit to being an old TR game fan and since version 1 i found that i had forgotten a lot, so thats why i posted the walk-through. I have tied the old cheats without any joy and the only two i found were a waste of time (one was for ngage and was dangerous hardware fiddle, the other made laura do a martial arts move). I only consult the help below when i am screwed, its good to know when i am done that i can replay each level and find all the stuff i missed and i dont mind a little help to go back over a level. I did change some of the key arrangments from the defaults but thats me...

Other games for the nGage have problems with the key arrangment and sonic needs to be played full screen (think #) fixs the lines in the normal mode. The nGage games are so much better than the JAVA games i have found. Nokia should release the game for the other mobiles as well as the security is now a thing of the past they could at least make $ from them. I would pay and i look forward to the next round of mobiles with dedicated/intergrated graphics, will give mobile gaming a BOOST!

Thier are several p2p programs but i like www.shareaza.com , its free, does 3 p2p networks (update/download the list in the program if you fail to connect to all three) and it has NO SPYWARE and its FREE as i said already. Dont search for 'sis', try ngage or 6600.

ngage Tombraider walk through (cheat/help)

The Beginning

The game begins by showing Lara and her guide trekking through the snow in the Peruvian mountains. They come to a large doorway set into the side of the mountain. Lara climbs up and presses a button to open the doors. Down below the guide is suddenly attacked by a pack of wolves that come out of the cave. Lara cuts her rope and drops to rescue the guide, shooting as she descends. She kills all of the wolves but not in time to save the guide. She enters the cave and the doors close behind her.

Peru - The Caves

The level begins with Lara standing just inside the cave's closed doors. Proceed forward on the run. Just follow the wolf tracks in the snow. Don't stop running as you pass through some darts that are coming out of the side walls. When you come to the corner, go to the right. As you pass another cave on your left, Lara will turn and look up at it. You'll be coming back here in just a moment.

Continue forward until you reach the end of the cave. In the far left corner is a sloped block and a small cave up above and to the left of it. Pull up onto the backside of the sloped block. As you slide down, jump and grab the edge of the cave ahead of you. Pull up inside for Secret #1, a Small Med Pack.

Drop down out of the cave and head back to the cave Lara looked up into a moment ago. Climb up inside and as you precede forwards shoot 3 bats. There'll be another cave to Lara's left. Go inside it and bear around to the right. Stand in the back left corner and press Action and Forward to get Lara to jump and grab the edge of the cave above. Go inside and get Secret #2, a Small Med Pack.

Drop down out of the cave and head back out around to the left. Continue deeper in the cave and around to the left again. You'll come to a large open area with a pillar in the center of it. On the other side of the pillar is an opening in the floor of the cave. Drop down into the half of the opening closest to the pillar and then head down the steps and continue to where you can pull a lever to open the nearby door.

As you enter the next part of the cave, kill another bat. You'll see a large opening to the right that's barred up so that you can't go through. Head to the back left and pull up through an opening in the ceiling. Continue forward and around to the right. You'll come to another large open area with a couple of hanging foot bridges. Down below are a couple of wolves. Go to the right along the side of the cave and head out onto the first foot bridge. While you're out in the middle of it, shoot the 2 wolves below.

Continue across and go left to where you can cross the other foot bridge. After crossing it, go left and proceed to the next large open area. Head around to the right to where there's a couple of elevated walkways that lead up to a bear's den down below.

You can take a few pot shots at the bear from up here, but that's no fun. Drop down with pistols drawn and avoid the bear as you do away with him. Head through the doorway and kill a couple of bats. Continue to where there's a square section in the floor that opens a door ahead when you step on it.

Before going through the door, grab the Small Med Pack in the alcove on the left. You'll be back in the wolf area below the foot bridges. Jump and pull up onto the bridge closest to the doorway where you exited this room. Head back to where you overlook the bear's den. Make a running jump across to the opposite side. Continue forward to some steps that go down to a small doorway. Before going down, head over to the back left corner and pick up the Small Med Pack.

Now head down the steps. After you pass through the small doorway, you'll be attacked by a couple of wolves. Do them in and then proceed forward to the other side. Turn right and step up to the edge where you'll see a small platform sticking out from the wall. Do a running jump to it and then enter the room on your left for Secret #3, a Large Med Pack. Go back out and drop down to the floor. To the left of the stairs is an alcove with a Small Med Pack.

After getting it, go climb up on the opposite side of the room to where there's a lever on the wall. Down to your left is a raised platform and beyond that is an area at the top of the stairs where the exit door is. The lever opens the doors that are timed to close, but you'll have plenty of time to get through them unless you run into a lot of trouble. After pulling the lever down, turn to the left. (Tap "Look" if the camera angle bothers you.)

Take one hop backwards and then make a running jump onto the platform. Walk forwards to the edge and make a standing jump to grab the floor ahead. Pull up and head through the open door. Take a right at the top of the steps and continue up through some darts.

When you get to the next room you'll be attacked by a wolf. Blast him and then walk onto the floor section below the opening in the ceiling. The floor will drop away and you'll land in the room below. On one side are some sloped pillars. Head through the open doorway and continue to the far end. Turn left and walk out onto a small square section. Hop back and make a running jump across to another landing.

Continue around to the left. There's a Large Med Pack ahead as well as another wolf. After taking care of these things, head into the room at the far end. Throw the lever there that opens the door in the area below. Go back out and hang a right to where you're looking down at the open doorway on your right. Hop down and head through the doorway and run forwards to end the level.

Peru - City Of Vilcabamba

As you enter the next large room you'll be attacked by 4 wolves. After taking care of them, head down the passageway to the left as you're standing in the doorway. Continue to the end and then turn right. Blast 5 bats and then proceed forwards past a hallway on the right.

Keep going until you come to the next hallway on the right. Head down it to a doorway and lever on the left. Throw the lever and head into the room. Go up the steps and around to an opening. Make a running jump into another opening across the hallway. Step to the edge and then hop back once. Make a running jump and keep pressing Jump and Forward so that Lara will spring forwards off the crumbling landing.

Quickly grab the landing ahead. If you fall to the floor, to the left of where the landing is at above you there is a block that you can pull out once and use to climb up onto the landing. Go into the alcove and get the Large Med Pack.

Drop back down to the floor and push the same block mentioned above forwards five times unless you pulled it back once, in which case you'll have to push it forwards six times. As you enter the next room kill the bat that attacks. Go forwards and in two alcoves to your left and right are a Gold Idol and a Silver Key.

After picking them up, go back to the block that you pushed into the room and climb on it to get to the landing above. Continue around the landing to an opening. Grab the Large Med Pack to the left of the opening and then go through and drop to the floor below. Head out towards the middle of the room and the pool of water. Jump in and swim down the passage. Take a right at the bottom and when you reach the area at the end, hang left and throw the lever in the near left corner.

After throwing the lever, swim diagonally across the area to another lever in a brightly lit area. Swim up and surface above the lever. Pull up into the room and get Secret #1, a Small Med Pack. Throw the lever to open the door and exit back out to the large room where the pool is. Again jump in and this swim down and take a left. When you surface in the room, enter to open doorway in the corner and get Secret #2, some Magnum Clips and a Small Med Pack. Head out and down the hallway to your left. You'll reach a locked door.

Use the Silver Key in the lock to open the door and then head into the room. Run through a dart trap and as you enter the next area you'll be attacked by a total of 5 more wolves. After taking care of them, head up the steps to a building with 3 doors. The door to the left is open so head inside it. Follow the passage up to a room with a pool. Head up the steps on the left and do a standing jump to grab the next ledge. From there do a running jump to the landing in front of a doorway.

Go through the doorway and follow the steps up to a small landing way above the pool. Shoot the bat and then make a running jump to the landing across the way. Enter the doorway here and follow the steps upward. In the next room shoot the bat and then throw the lever that's over to the left.

This will open the right door of the 3 doors down below. Pick up the Small Med Pack and then exit through the next doorway. Go over to the left side of the ledge and do a safety drop to the ledge below. Pick up the Shotgun Shells and then go to the other end of the ledge.

From here, do another safety drop to the red colored roof. Pick up a Small Med Pack in the corner and then hop down to the ground in front of the 3 doors. Enter the door on the right. When you reach the pool, go around to the left side. Pull up onto the landing there. Don't get on the breakaway floor sections. Step forwards and pull up onto the next landing.

Turn around and pull up onto another landing. Shoot the bat and then proceed through the doorway and up the steps. When you reach the next room pull the lever that's over to your right. This opens the center door of the 3 doors down below.

Exit through the next doorway and from the right side of the ledge, do a safety drop to ledge below. Safety drop from here to the red colored roof and then drop to the ground in front of the 3 doors. Enter the center doorway. As you proceed forwards you'll have to time yourself as you pass by 3 swinging pendulums with metal blades. Once you get past them, throw the lever that's over to the right of the doorway.

The floor will drop out from under you and you'll drop into a pool. Swim down and then up into the next room. There's a bear running around along the side of the pool. Locate the underwater passage and swim into it and follow it to where you can pull up into a doorway.

Follow the steps up to a room above the pool. Over on the left is another lever. Pull it to open a door down near the pool. Back behind you to your right a doorway just opened. Go in and drop down a couple of times to get Secret #3, some Uzi Clips. Make your way back up to where the lever is. Go out onto the landing above the pool and do a safety drop to the ground. Quickly take care of the bear. Use the Gold Idol in the lock to open the exit door. Proceed into the passage to the end of the level.

Peru - The Lost Valley

Proceed forwards to a large room. Turn to the right and go through an opening ahead of you. Drop down a series of steps to a pool. Shoot two wolves. With the pool to your left, you'll see a large opening ahead of you. Pull up into the opening and kill another wolf.

Proceed forwards and pull up into another passage way. If you go to the right and down a short passage you can kill 3 more wolves. Straight ahead of you are some rocks that you can climb. Make your way up until you come to a skeleton and a Large Med Pack. Off in the distance you can see the Lost Valley. Drop and slide down into the valley.

Proceed forwards and kill a Raptor. As you proceed forwards another Raptor will attack. Kill it. Run down to an opening on your right just past a waterfall. Go inside and then turn around. With pistols drawn, go back out a little ways and shoot at the T-Rex that attacks. When it gets too close, hop backwards into the cave as you continue to fire. When it goes away, go back out and start shooting at it again.

Do this until you finally kill it. Now turn around and go through the cave. Kill the Raptor that you meet along the way. When you come back out into the valley, turn and go to the left. Look for a nearby cave to your left. Go inside it and you meet yet another Raptor. After killing it you'll come to a small pool.

Climb the rocks to the right of the pool. Keep climbing up until you reach the top. Pick up the gear and then make your way back down to the pool. Hop in and swim until you pull up at the base of a large waterfall. Just to the right of the waterfall climb up to a triangular crack in the rock.

Jump and grab the edge and shimmy over to the right. Pull up into the mouth of the water fall and inside you'll find Secret #1, some Shotgun Shells and some Magnum Clips. Drop out of the opening into the pool below and then climb back out. Farther to the right of the large waterfall is an opening that you can pull up into and get Secret #2, some Shotgun Shells.

Head back out into the valley and go right. When you get close to where a large rock bridge crosses overhead, you'll be attacked by two more Raptors. A little ways ahead and to the right is a rock that you can climb up onto. Turn left and jump and grab the next ledge. Continue to make your way up around the side until you can make a running jump over onto the roof of a structure.

Here you'll find Secret #3, a Large Med Pack, some Magnum Clips, some Uzi Clips, and some Shotgun Shell. Go over to the far end and do a safety drop to the ground. Go inside the opening under the roof to where there's another waterfall and pool. Hop in and swim down around to the right. Follow a short passage to where you can get another gear. Turn around and make your way back to the valley.

Off to your right on the side hill is a cave that looks bright inside. Go over and pull up onto the rock in front of it and then pull up into the cave. Proceed forwards until you reach the broken footbridge. Make a running jump over to the other side. Grab and pull up. At the other end is another gear. Pick it up and then drop to the valley floor. Head back to where you entered the valley.

Climb up to where the skeleton is and then make your way down to the floor of the cave. Head back out to where the pool and waterfall is at. Climb up the rocks to the left of the pool until you reach the top. Proceed all the way forwards and then turn right. Make a running jump across the river and then go to the left. Turn and jump across the river again.

Continue up and around until you have to again jump the river. The next time you jump across you'll have to grab and pull up into the opening of a cave. Follow the zig zag path through the cave until you come to a footbridge that crosses the river. Cross over to where there are some gears on the wall.

You'll see some pegs sticking out among the gears. Put the 3 gears that you have on the pegs and then throw the lever that's to the left of the gears. When the gears all turn, they open a gate that diverts the river down a different passageway. You have to have water in this passage so that you can swim up out of an opening in the ceiling at the other end.

Go over to the right of the footbridge and drop and hang from the edge. Shimmy over to the left to where you can drop onto some rocks. Go around into the cave that has Secret #4, a Large Med Pack. Now hop into the river and swim down to the gate. Turn left and then pull up onto a landing to your right. Pick up the Shotgun and then hop back into the water.

Continue swimming underwater through a series of turns until you reach the small room with the opening in the ceiling, Pull up out of the opening into a room that has Secret #5, a Small Med Pack and 2 sets of Shotgun Shells. Head out through the doorway and make a jump across the dry riverbed.

Proceed forwards and to the left to where you can drop down the steps to where the pool is. Hop in and swim over to where the waterfall was at. Pull up into the opening. As you go forwards a door on the right will open. Go through this door and continue to the end of the level.

Peru - Tomb Of Qualopec

Head down the passage until you come to a large room. Cross the room and proceed only a short way up inside a hallway with a sloped floor. As soon as a boulder at the top begins rolling towards you, do a roll and run back out into the large room and head to the left or right to avoid the boulder. You might want to select your Shotgun for this next bit. Head over to the left of the doorway where you entered the room and pull the lever there.

Do a roll and quickly draw your Shotgun. Two Raptors will attack. Avoid them as best as you can as you do them in. Now head into the hallway where they just came out. A little ways down it you'll come to a small room with a passage on each side and one straight ahead. Turn to the left and head into the doorway with a picture of a bird over it.

Continue until you reach the next room that has a lever on the right side. Don't throw the lever yet. Instead go across the room and do a safety drop down to the floor below. Turn to your right and head into the passage there. Go up the steps until you find yourself on a block that's in the large room that you just dropped down into. Turn to your right and make a standing jump to grab the edge of an opening.

Pull up in and then pull up 3 more times. Proceed down a hallway until you come to an opening in the floor. Drop down inside and then turn to your left and drop down again. Turn left and drop down one more time to where you'll be on a block that's in the large room. Turn right and make a standing jump to grab another opening. Pull up inside and then pull up once more.

Throw the lever that's around to the left. Go back to the opening and safety drop to the floor. Head over to where the floor slopes up in front of the doorway above. Pull up into the doorway and now throw the lever that's over to your left. Go into the passageway to the right of you and climb up to the top. Drop down into an opening that faces the large room.

Make a running jump and land on the pillar in front of you. Make another running jump to the next pillar. Turn to the right and make a running jump across the spikes to land in the doorway. Go inside this room and throw another lever. This will open the first of three gates that's blocking a hallway back where the boulder rolled into the room.

Go back around to the doorway and do a standing jump over the spikes and onto the floor. Cross the room and pull up into the opening where the sloped floor is. Get your gun ready for a Raptor that will come down the hallway and attack you. After taking care of it, head down the hallway to the room with the pictures above the doorways. Now enter the doorway to your left that has a sun over it.

Follow the hallway to the next room and take a left. Turn right into an alcove with a lever. The floor will drop out from under you and you'll drop into the room below where 3 wolves are waiting for you. Blast the wolves and the run up one of the ramps to where you can pull a block out from the wall. Hop around to one side of the block and push is sideways once.

Enter the hallway and head up the stairs. Drop down and pick up a Small Med Pack. Pull up out of the hole and then continue up some more stairs. In the next room pick up a Small Med Pack and then throw a lever that opens the second gate. Drop through the hole in the floor and head back into the room that has doors with pictures above them.

Turn left and enter the doorway that has a face above it. You'll come to a room with a block in the wall that you can push forwards. Push it 2 times and then push in the block on your left once. Turn to your right and run across the breakaway floor to the lever. Throw the lever here that opens the third gate. Jump back across the spikes holding Action.

Continue back to the area with the doors and then head back to the large room where the boulder was at. Go straight across the room and into the hallway that no longer has the gates in your way. When you come to the end, turn right. Ahead of you is a dart trap. I found that if I just ran forwards I hardly got hit. After you get past the dart pipe that shoots across the first step, turn to the left and position Lara just to the right of the pipe. Jump and pull up into the opening.

Proceed forwards and run across a section of breakaway floor tiles until you reach the far left corner. This is Secret #1. Pick up the Shotgun Shells. Drop and hang from the platform so that your back is to the doorway. Shimmy all the way left and drop safely to the floor. Here you'll find Secret #2. Pick up the Magnum Clips and then walk through the spikes until you're below the doorway. Jump and pull up into the doorway.

Go forwards and hop down to the left of where the darts come out. Head up the steps. You'll reach a room with the Piece of Scion on a pedestal in the center. As soon as you pick it up head for the doorway. The ceiling will be falling in. Run down the ramp and across the next room. Enter the hallway ahead and go around one side of the boulder. You'll soon come to the pond from the previous level.

Larson is over on the other side. Hop into the water and swim down into an opening on the right side. Precede to where you can surface in a nearby room. This is Secret #3. Pick up the Large Med Pack and the Magnum Clips. Check your health and use a Med Pack if you need one. In order to get the last pick up we'll need to run past Larson as he shoots at us.

Hop back into the water and head for the pool where Larson is waiting. Climb out onto the landing and then head through the large opening. Drop down and run forwards to where you can climb up and pick up a Large Med Pack. Now drop down and go back and take care of Larson.

The level ends with Lara confronting Larson. As he tries to grab his gun, Lara hits him and knocks him out. Lara reaches a large set of doors and goes inside.

FREE NOKIA GAMES

FREE NOKIA GAMES FROM NOKIA CAN BE FOUND HERE

INSTALLING Nokia-THEME STUDIO & N-Gage Games

The program wont install under XP, so you need to right click/prop/comp and change to Win2000 compatiable mode. It will then install and it needs JAVA VM to install and run too. It comes with 2 themes (see previous post).

N-Gage games can be found with most P2P programs, you need to copy the blzinstapp.sis file to the memory card and install or the install icon isnt added to the MENU! Games need to be copied to the main (32mb) memory/main directory where blzinstapp can find them (*.BLZ extention) but if you can then copy to OTHER directory and use the nokia file manager to put into root directory of the card. Run blzinstapp and it will locate the files and offer to install (by default they install into memory card) and place an ICON on the desktop, which you can move to GAMES.

A few games run but you cant play them as they need the 8 degree's of movment which the 6600 dosnet offer in some games.

* WANTED A nKJV or similar, easy to read and naviage bible for my 6600, any help appreciated, will post anything i find... HELP!!!

Problem with ARGILE 2.0

Sorry to say the gprs version/upgrade to ARGILE dosent work! I have emailed them after updating as it just crashs out! The older version is still on the site for downlaod but as gprs is expensive i dont recommend you answering yes to the prompt on your mobile to upgrade. I have gone back to 1.1 as i dont need yahoo chat. But they dont respond to emails so hope they fix this as i have downloaded 800kb for nothing! Chat for the month was only about 200kb and on my plan i get 2mb for $10 a month (OPTUS AU). While thats heaps for chat its NOT enough to keep downloading the same update thats BROKEN! ~ such is life ~
